Netflix Japan Netflix Series “Asura” Opening Sequence

Palme d’Or winner Director Kazuhiro Kore-eda adapted the family drama “Asura,” written by the trailblazing female screenwriter Kuniko Mukoda. KOO-KI’s Kei Uehara produced the opening sequence for this hidden gem of a series. He co-produced the music for the opening, too.

Hailed as a masterpiece by the screenwriter Mukoda, “Asura” is a beloved family drama representing Showa-period Japan with the theme of universal family dynamics. Without losing its timeless charm, Japan’s leading actors and talents reimagined the drama for the modern audience. Rie Miyazawa, Machiko Ono, Yu Aoi, and Suzu Hirose play the four sisters who are the story’s central characters.

The opening KOO-KI’s Uehara created for the drama highlights the stillness and motion of four sisters laying their emotions bare, in their anguish and calm. Paired with nostalgia and stylish music, it will leave a lasting impression, so don't skip it!
